"Safety in Schools Week" is an annual school safety awareness event which aims to provide Western Australian primary schools and the wider community with a week to focus on injury prevention.
Safety in Schools Week focuses on injury prevention priority areas that have been highlighted in the National Injury Prevention Plan. The collaborative approach to "Safety in Schools Week" develops partnerships with health agencies, public health units, other organisations, government departments and businesses.
"Safety in Schools Week" offers all Western Australian injury prevention agencies the opportunity to unite and present their injury prevention messages, resources and curriculum based activities to schools in a single, comprehensive resource promoted during the event. Safety in Schools Week is coordinated annually by Kidsafe WA with the support of the Department of Education and Training and Department of Consumer and Employment Protection (WorkSafe). The PMH Foundation has been the primary sponsor of Safety in Schools Week since 2003.
